Tonight “After the Fire” Survivors of Seton Hall fire to speak at NMSU Aug. 27, 7 pm Corbett Center Outdoor Stage:
Shawn Simons and Alvaro Llano will share their story of survival at NMSU nearly 20 years after escaping a residence hall that was set on fire at Seton Hall University in New Jersey Jan. 9, 2000. The blaze killed three students and injured 58. Their presentation at NMSU will include a viewing of their documentary, “After the Fire,” a reading from their bestselling booking and a question-and-answer session. It will begin 7 p.m. Aug. 27 in the Corbett Center Student Union outdoor stage. The event is sponsored by the NMSU Fire Department, Housing and Residential Life, Dean of Students, the NMSU Police Department and NMSU Dining.
